Nagarkot To Changunarayan Hiking: The Kathmandu Valley is a hiker’s paradise. Surrounded by lush rolling hills of the Mahabharat range the region has various ideal spots for short hikes. The hiking tour allows participants to enjoy the beautiful green forests, meadows, farmlands, and villages. Discover the culture, traditions, and customs of the people along the way.

Nagarkot to Changunarayan is one of the renowned hiking destinations in the valley. A short drive and you will eventually reach Nagarkot. A hill station provides grand views of the Himalayas and the valley down below. Nagarkot is one of the best places to watch sunrise and sunset from above the clouds.

An hour’s drive on a 32-kilometer road following the eastern highway and you will reach the top of the hill station. Located at an elevation of 2100 meters. Upon reaching the summit witness the grand views of the landscape. Next hike through various settlements following the dirt roads. After walking for about 3-4 hours, reach Changunarayan, a UNESCO world heritage site. Explore the temple complex and witness idols over 1000 years old and learn about the rich history and culture of the people. After exploring head back to your accommodation.

Detail Itineraries

The Hiking starts at 8 a.m. Private transportation will pick you up from the Alpine Club of Himalaya or any accommodation you are staying in in Kathmandu.
